Nuriootpa Traders was a family owned and operated business for over 40 years and over this time grew to become the largest local transport company operating exclusively between the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide areas.
Our business started with Jim & Denise Roocke supplying local businesses and restaurants with fresh fruit and vegetables from the Adelaide East End markets hence the name Nuriootpa Traders. As the business grew, more of the family became involved with Kym, Teresa, Nigel and son-in-law, Michael all joining.
Over time, the business expanded further and started carting general freight for the local community, and not long after, grocery cartage for the Nuriootpa Foodland store. Till this day, Nuriootpa Foodland is still our longest servicing customer.
The opportunity of wine cartage to Adelaide along with distribution of bottles from both Adelaide and Gawler to various bottling plants within the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale saw the business flourish. The business grew to a fleet of over 26 trucks and became a critical link in the supply chain for the growing wine industry.
